A company called Advanced Automotive Technologies did just that starting in 2003 and continues today. To date Advanced Automotive Technologies have made over 150 1953-2003 Commemorative Edition Corvettes. The 1953-2003 Commemorative Edition Corvettes combines the retro styling of the original 1953 Corvette with the modern power and comforts of today’s Corvette. These beautiful 1953-2003 Commemorative Edition Corvettes are built based on a customer provided Chevrolet Corvette C5 convertible. All new body panels are installed by Advanced Automotive Technologies using the same attachment locations as production panels. With these 1953-2003 Commemorative Edition Corvettes there are no structural modifications and all safety related items remain intact.

A new red and white interior takes the place of whatever interior the donor C5 has and chrome 5-spoke wheels replace the existing wheels. Even the brake calipers are painted in a matching red.
